Kanye West: Back in the Good Life

His mother died after a breast reduction/tummy tuck surgery disaster late last year -- but Kanye West managed to go on with the show and sing about "The Good Life" at a New Year's Eve bash at the Palms Casino Resort.

The pumped up rapper performed after midnight at the Vegas hotel's Pearl Concert Theater early Tuesday morning, rocking the crowd into a frenzy as confetti and balloons flew from the ceiling.

You're right everyone copes differently. In Kanye's case he is also an only child, no siblings to commiserate with,
is not settled into family life yet. It would seem that working is the best way for him to eventually deal with his grief.
I say eventually because he may still be in shock (I am) and has not yet confronted his feelings about her passing.
Also agree with this same poster about Kanye putting on a brave face. He is doing the best he can his most trusted
advisor is gone. Give him a break.

20. Ha. Well, I often create different handles that apply to the topic on occasion to add more creative weight, as well as maintain a constant handle or two, so will smile & just hope it could be me: there are quite a few other sharp or funny regulars on here, yourself included.

21. ....that is terrific that Kanye is doing what he loves...his mother was a true inspiration to him and I'm postive he is joyous inside with the strength and courage his mom taught him, he is moving forward as a testement to his love for his mother and what she would expect, awesome!!

23. Kanye will grieve the loss of his mother, THE REST OF HIS LIFE! He probably gets up every morning wondering how he is going to get through the day. People want to critize him for "working". However, employers generally give employees ONE WEEK off for a death of a parent. People return to work the day after they bury their loved ones witrhout being critized. Kayne no doubt knows that there is a God, whom will give him all he needs to "accept" the death of his mother. Life don't stop because of death. As the bible says, let the dead bury the dead. Those who are alive, keep on living!

25. Good to see him carrying on with his life as his mother would have wanted him to. I am sure he misses her terribly as they were obviously so very close and it would be sad if he was to be overcome with grief.

27. I can't stand this egotistical talentless prick! I was hoping after the death of his mother, he would just drop off the face of the earth!
