PETA-likes Protest Paris and Brit

Dressed as pop dog carriers Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, PETA protesters took to the streets of Hollywood today to cast light on the problems caused by buying pets through a breeder. But really, when you dispatch people dressed up as those two, no one really cares what your cause is!

According to PETA, for every dog or cat purchased from a breeder or pet store, another dog or cat on death row at an animal shelter must be killed. At the rate Paris and Britney are going, there won't be any pets left for the rest of us! Arf, y'all!

"Forget jail or rehab," PETA Director Daphna Nachminovitch says. "These selfish stars should do a stint in an animal shelter." Hopefully, they've already had all their shots.

63. Gina has just enough information to be dangerous.... There are responsible, passionate, professional breeders who perpetuate pure bred dogs with total dedication to quality. If you know a breeder who doesn't keep records, knows their dogs genetics back at least 5 generations, and doesn't select owners based on applications and have a return guarantee, then you are dealing with a back yard breeder. Buy at your own risk. Gina, you sound like a peta person.

64. I am so glad to see PETA get trashed. I am an animal lover and hate to see people mistreat them, but the tactic PETA uses are the same as the anti-abortion people. They disgust you with awful photos of skinned animals (anti-abort uses terminated pregnancy fetuses) and expect you can support them. When my little boys crossed one of the posters, it took me weeks to help them get over the visual. I was so angry I wanted to sue them for the trauma my boys went through at 4 and 6 years old. I would have gladly been a supporter but those tactics are as bad as the torture to animals. I wish one of them would hit me with some red paint (signifying the blood of animals, I suppose). Believe me they would get hit back and paint would be the last thing I would use. And the thing with Michael Vick....what he did is deplorable, however; where were they when Robert Blake killed his human wife, where are they with Phil Spector on trial for killing a human woman. I realize we need someone to speak for the animals and for all of you who do that, there will be special rewards for all of you, but for the PETA people...they should be fined for the things they do. I normally don't hate, but for PETA, I will make an exception. They do hunt celebrities so they can get more air time. My boys are 23 and 25 now and I have hated PETA since they were small. Good Job PETA! NOT!!!!

65. I like Paris Hilton. Ive seen Simple Life and she seems pretty concientious of animals. I think PETA should stick with issues instead of nit-picking people.

66. I have never liked PETA, we don't have pet stores here anymore, and if I get another dog, it might come from a shelter, but then again, it might come from a breeder friend, who does NOT run a puppy mill!

Do you really think that Paris or Britney would actually walk into a shelter to pick out a dog? Not in this lifetime....

70. Where do some people get their information about the AKC and dog breeders? I used to go to the AKC Dog Shows all the time and have even had a dog competing, and none of the dog breeders I met were running puppy mills, so I don't have a clue where you get your information from....

71. Susan, I will diss peta, because their theatrics influence the public to look down on established animal welfare institutions. Most agencies are against peta's activities because of their disregard of the law and of civil rights. I have worked in animal welfare for 20 years, and would never associate with a peta member. They may draw from popular animal causes, but they are kooks.

72. Hey Peta....
How come your spokes models are carrying stuffed toys most likely made in sweatshops in China? Masks most likely painted by talented childeren in pakistan, and clothing from all sorts of environmently unsafe manufacturers? You care about the animals, how about Humans? How about the environment that the animals live in? You are always willing to point out other people's violation of what you deem correct? What about yourselves and your members own conduct?
Do you know what has happened to the older pets that Britney and Paris had? Could it be that they are living happy and comfortable lives in the home, and are just not being used as arm candy any longer? Or possibly adopted by one of there family members or friends? What facts do you have about these ladies actual ( Not implied) treatment of there pets?
Also to what means will your organization go to make your point? We know you'll destroy public and private property. Where is your line? Who's coat tails will you ride to get your point made?

Will you do it with dignaty and respect so your work will really make an impact , or do you plan to continue to act like clowns?

You need to show the same social responsibility you are trying to preach.

They get marked down until they sell

If you buy a puppy at a pet store you are NEVER rescuing it. You are giving money to perverted puppy millers in places like craphole Missouri and helping them hurt more dogs
